My parents started losing there teeth in their late 40’s, is it genetic?

August 10th, 2012
Q.

Hello Ian, how are you? I just have a quick question regarding my teeth and gums. Unfortunately both my parents started loosing their teeth when they hit late 40’s. I don’t think there oral health was that bad, they say it was down to genetics? I was just wondering if i will suffer the same fate, is gum disease and losing teeth hereditary? Is there anything i can do to stop this? Any info would be great! Thanks!

I’ve fought off gum disease once before only to see it return, Could you inform me about the BOST procedure and will it prevent gum disease from coming back?

Q.

I have been reading about gum disease treatments on the web and have found that many people have fought off gum disease only to see it return. I then found out about BOST or BOSA something like this, that is meant to help you steer clear of meeting again. I had never heard of this before. I have myself gotten rid of gum disease once already and would do anything to prevent it coming back, could you inform me what this procedure is if youve heard of it? thanks

How can I stop my teeth being wobbly?

August 2nd, 2011
Q.

Good day to you Doctor, I can’t say that I looked after my teeth very well when I was younger because I didn’t and now as a result my adult teeth are becoming very wobbly, and my gums have receded a fair bit in addition to this. However, there not as wobbly as they use to be so Iam wondering if theres anything that I can do to reverse these affects? and if not then what do I do to stop them getting any worse than what they are? Many thanks for your time
