Can periodontal gum disease return after being eradicated?

Hi i have recently eradicated periodontitis I managed it quickly before any significant gum was lost (very proud of myself for noticing the signs early, woop!) but i have been advised it can come back despite brushing religiously! and flossing, this hardly seems like a fair playing field I would firstly like to know if this is true? my dentist mentioned it but i thought he was just trying to scare me into keeping on top of it (which i will and would have done regardless) but then the other day a freind said the same thing and im unsure?? Ive been using flossets as well as brushing and mouth washing twice a day (often using mouthwash (diluted with water as to not erode my teeth) more than once a day- so after any sugary snack breaks etc) I was thinking, would this be enough or is there more i can get from my routine in order to stop it coming back again?

My mum has gum disease, will i get it too?

Today my mum went to our dentist and she got told that she’s at the start of getting gum disease. But she doesn’t smoke and eatings plenty of fruit and vegetables and only buys sweets for me and my sister so doesn’t eat any for herself. This has made me wonder
1. Because she has gum disease will I get it? I’m not sure if this is how it works. 2. How do I prevent getting it if this is the case and I am likely to get it?
3. How do you cure it because Idon#t want it!?

I have white spots on my gums, do I have gum disease?

I go to the dentist for a check up every year and she hasn’t mentioned anything about gum disease too me. However I think that I might have it because all over my gums at front theres tiny white spots covering them. Why do my gums hurt when i brush?

Hi all of my gums are swollen and sensitive and every time I brush them they bleed heavily and this is causing me a great deal of discomfort and issues. I have tried changing toothpaste and types of brushes but nothing seems to be making any difference or working, and i am just wondering if you could advise me on for this I should try next to overcome this and stop it, as it’s a recurring problem and really starting to affect my life, thanks for helping

How can I stop my gum disease getting worse?

Hi, I’av just been told I have gum disease off my dentist. Iam 35 so still take a lot of pride in my teeth. I’av been placed on antibiotics and started using fluriode mouthwash and flossing (not as often as i should though, really goes though me that stuff). Iam just wondering if theres anything else that i can do to prevent my gum disease getting any worse??
