Why do my gums hurt when i brush?

Q.
Hi all of my gums are swollen and sensitive and every time I brush them they bleed heavily and this is causing me a great deal of discomfort and issues. I have tried changing toothpaste and types of brushes but nothing seems to be making any difference or working, and i am just wondering if you could advise me on for this I should try next to overcome this and stop it, as it’s a recurring problem and really starting to affect my life, thanks for helping

Hi. Schedule a dental appointment for a thorough checkup and cleaning with your dentist is the first step you should take. They can remove plaque and tartar in places that brushing can’t get to and will diagnose the extent of the problem for your individual case, meaning they can advise you if any further treatment and a specific care regime is needed to help you deal with your problem and prevent its recurrence. Hope that helps
