I can’t get rid of the plaque build up behind my teeth, how can I improve this problem?

June 12th, 2012
Q.

Hello Jose! Well, I was wondering if you can help me. My bottom four teeth tend to build up a lot of plaque behind them, I brush vigorously behind them trying to remove it, but always it builds up again! When i visit my dentist he removes it with his scrubber machine! And tells me to brush more regularly, i do this but it never seems to work. Can you tell me if this has anything to do with maybe some gum disease i have or give me some tips on how to improve this problem? Thanks alot mate!

Can I keep bacteria from settling by swilling water constantly?

October 11th, 2011
Q.

good afternoon,
I have been doing a bit of online research and have found that the flow of saliva plays a massive part in getting rid of bacterium and plaque obviously not getting rid of it all but helping. so then I had this thought. if it takes around Fifteen minutes for plaque to build up after a snack or meal whilst out of the house could I swill my mouth with a drink- water! in order to aid the saliva’s job or disrupting the bacteria as it tries to form? would this be a good idea? I have a two pin sized holes either side of my top, right, central incisor. I was hoping by doing this I could help stop them growing bigger? are they a sign of periodontitis/gingivitus/neither and if so will this help

Is there anything I can do to save my teeth?

August 23rd, 2011
Q.

I am sixty nine years old and have quite severe gum disease at present. I do brush my teeth twice daily and also partake in flossing before I end up going to bed every night. I go to the dentist every six months as is recommended I believe but I still can’t prevent plaque from building up. It is now getting to the point where my lower teeth will have to be removed which is absolutely devastating to me. Can I do anything to save them at this stage?

My gums are red and sore, am I developing gum disease?

July 22nd, 2011
Q.

Hello recently i have noticed on my bottom jaw at the top of my gum in between my teeth it is quite red and sore i am very worried about this . I wear invisible retainers that i have to wear all the time and a lot of plaque builds up quickly. i googled gum disease and my teeth don’t look as bad as the images that came up. Do i have the early stages of gum disease? Or is is just temporary swollen gums? I have only noticed the swellings in the last day.
