I need a mouth overhaul, will gum disease stop me?

Q.
hello i have gum disease, as as such am losing a tooth at the front Left had side. My other 3 front top teeth are also crooked, and my question is, would you advise a brace that would fill the gap where my tooth that is loose would be, or would you advise an implant for the missing tooth and cerec or composite veneers for the other teeth? My overcrowding on the other 3 teeth, could they be fixed with a dental putty rather than a veneer, or is that exactly what a veneer is anyway? where my tooth is loose my gum has receded into a kind of inverted ^ shape. Instead of relying on gum restoration could it be stitched together to encourage growth and lessen the appearance of the gap? thanks

Hi, it is a very complex answer without seeing you. In general treatment with braces require a very high level of control of your gum disease, meaning that you cannot have any residual pockets and/or bleeding from the gums during examination with a probe. Wonderful results can be achieved with braces. Again, implant treatment also requires prior control of the disease and assessment of cosmetics, for instance, how high your upper lip raises when you smile and bone volume of the area. Cerec or composite veneers are highly dependent of the skills of your dentist, generally speaking Cerec will give you better cosmetics but can also cost considerably more. If I understand the last bit of your question, I’m afraid we don’t have a predictable way of promote gum “regrowth” around a tooth, which has lost that considerable amount of bone and especially between the teeth, to fill up the gap. I advise you to get a Specialist opinion on your case, which “sounds” like a rather complex perio/restorative case.
