August 27th, 2014
Q.

Dear Dr Dimitrios Mitsas, I go to the dentist regularly for my check-ups but they have never said anything about gum disease or anything about my receding gums. I didn’t notice my gums had receded till recently my front right tooth is wobbly and as the days go by it is becoming more loose also is very receded, I went to the dentist 2 weeks ago and they never said anything about my gums I have booked my self in to see the dentist again because I am worried about my teeth falling out as I’m only 18 could you help me. Thank you.

I Have Been To My Dentist For A Year To Try And Get My Gum Disease Under Control, But Things Are Getting Worse. Should I Turn To Surgery?

August 27th, 2014
Q.

Hi. I’m 25 years old
I have been going to my dentist now for over a year for deep cleans etc to treat my gum disease. My gums are receding and my bone is weakening I have one wobbly tooth at the front on the bottom row and my top front two teeth have considerably moved and I am desperate for a brace, yet I am not allowed any orthodontist works till my gum disease has cleared. I feel I am not improving and when my dentist does the measurements I was told some are worsening others improving. I have never missed a day brushing my teeth twice or more and I just can’t understand what I’m doing wrong. Is there any surgery I can have to get my teeth looking better as I hate my smile?

My Gum Bleeds When I Put Pressure On Parts Of My Mouth. Is This Gum Disease?

August 27th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Mitsas, My gum bleeds if I put pressure on parts of my mouth. I brush my teeth everyday but there is blood when I brush my teeth. Is this a sign of gum disease?
Is there anything that you would recommend to prevent this happening? I know that there are mouthwashes and certain toothpastes that can help prevent gum disease. I try to brush my teeth twice a day, but if I’m honest, I only brush once.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
Kind regards.
