My gums on the bottom set of teeth seem to be receding, can this be reversed and is it costly?

Q.
The gum at my bottom front tooth appears to have receded and appears quite red and i believe i can see some of the tooth that you wouldn’t normally see, I am assuming this is gum disease, is it possible to turn this situation around or could I possibly lose this tooth? if you can resolve the problem how can you do this and will it be very costly. I have booked an urgent appointment with a dentist, however i would like to know if this is going to be a very costly exercise? Many thanks

It is unlikely to be gum disease and more likely to be related to the position of the tooth and the thin nature of your gum tissue.

It can be corrected using gum grafts and would cost in the region of £500-1000 depending on which part of the country you are in.
