My daughter had 8 veneers last year, she recently went to her dentist who told her she needs 5 fillings one behind a veneer, could this have happened in 12 months?

Q.
My daughter had extensive work done on her teeth last year. She had around 8 veneers to build up and improve her smile. Her front tooth is dead (she was hit in the face by a football 10 years ago) and used to look grey so this was also fixed We were recommended this dentist by a friend and he has a good reputation. She has recently moved to London and has been having tooth ache. She has just returned from a dentist there having been told she needs 5 fillings, one of which is behind a veneer and that it looks like she has not been to the dentist for years. The dentist showed her xrays of where the fillings are needed. Surely her teeth could not have decayed that badly in 12 months? What should she do?

This question does not relate to gum disease and as such is not really suitable for this forum. That said, she either trusts the dentist she has seen, who sounds like they have tried to demonstrate on the X-rays where the problems are or she gets another, independent opinion and takes things from there.
