I’ve lost a lot of my teeth on the left side of my jaw, what other options are there apart from dentures?

Q.
I have lost all my teeth on the top and lower jaw on the left side of my mouth mouth and gums have totally receeded. The left side of my face is changing and I am so conscious of it. What little teeth I have left are really bad added to which I have gum disease. I know I need to do something but just dont have don’t have the finance. Other than dentures what other options are there. I am even too embarrased to go to a dentist. I am 56 years old. What can I do?
A.
Hello, I do understand your concerns! Under the circumstances I believe dentures are the only option, meaning that IF little can be done to save the teeth and you already struggle with your edentulous left hand side, the easiest way is to clear all teeth or maybe just keep the best ones for the time being (this may help you adjust to new dentures). Now there’s a way for denture wearers to stabilize these by using mini implants on the jawbone. You really need to see your dentist and discuss your options and you should not feel embarrassed about it at all! Everybody needs a ‘working” dentition to be able to chew your food and to socialize.
