Is gum disease curable considering I attend regular dental visits?

Q.
I recently visited my dentist and she spoke to me about gum disease. When she was talking about my gums she mentioned stage 2 and stage 3. How do the stages of gum disease work and is gum disease reversible? Does this mean my teeth will fall out? I do brush my teeth twice daily, use mouth wash and a tooth pick. I visit my dentist every 6 months and have regular scrapes and polishes. Can vitamin tablets help? I know it’s a lot but thanks anyway

Hi there, unfortunately I am unsure what your dentist means by stage 2 and 3 as this terminology is certainly not the norm. It is impossible for me to comment on your teeth falling out as I would need to see you to assess that. If you have true gum disease, you will need more than just a scrape and polish every 6 months. Regarding vitamins, if you have a balanced diet, supplements will not make any difference in my opinion.
