I have chronic deterioration. Would BOST treatment be a good idea?

Q.
Dr Dunn ,
I attended a appt at the Dental Clinic on the 21st March 2012.At Homerton
Hospital.I was told that I have chronic detereation under a gold crown top left moluer and bottom left (also a.gold crown) not much better . However
The Dr has adivised ,extraction of both ,though if the bottom left crown is not causing me too much discomfort .Then I could delay the removal . Would BOST
treatment be a option , I am also a smoker and have receding gums .
Also would I be able to receive this treatment from my Dentist .
A.
Has your dentist told you that this deterioration is due to gum disease or tooth decay? Make sure that you are talking about the right disease. In my opinion, BOST does not offer anything over convention perio treatments and is certainly not seen as a mainstream treatment.

YOu really need to give up smoking as it is the number one risk factor for gum disease. After that, I would seek conventional treatment and if you are not getting anywhere, ask for a referral to a Specialist.
