You have a number of significant issues going on here that could all be having and affect on the other.

Diabetes is a risk factor for gum disease, but if your diabetes is stable and it is very improtant that you get it stable for your general health, the effects on the gum health will be minimal or none at all.

The stomach problem that is making you unwell after eating could also be affecting your diabetes and periodontal health and I assume that you are seeking medical help for both conditions. There is increasing research emerging relating to inflammation and nutritional states.

You are doing the right thing in term of cleaning and flossing but the gum disease may be at a stage where you also need some professional treatment. I would suggest that you ask your dentist for a referral to a Periodontist as your advanced gum disease, young age and medical history makes your treatment more difficult and needs the extra level of expertise.
