Could the pain in my mouth be gum disease and what can I do about it?

Q.
hello ive been taken antbiotics for nearly 2 weeks for a gum infection and mouth wash 4 times a day, my gums were swollen and i had a painful ulcer behind my front tooth at the top. i was in lot of pain and i had a fever with with it, also my right side of my neck was swollen too. My gums have gone to normal and the ulcer has gone to, where the ulcer was it feels like a hole is there now, ive got 2 days left on the antibotics left, i keep getting this awful pain in my top gum on the right hand side, it comes and goes through out the day ive had it for days now, The pain last about a min, but its terrible,if i put cold water in my mouth with the pain there,it goes, but then returns when the water warms up…

I went to dentist today and he said i have gum diesease i told him about the pain and he told me to just carry on with antibotics.

can gum diesease cause this horrible pain, and what can i do because i finish tablets soon, i really cant take that pain no more…

Im typing with cold water in my mouth…

please help

Chronic gum disease is normally painless, unless an acute infection (abscess) develops under the gum. The abscess normally diminishes after 1 week or so of a course of antibiotics, namely amoxicillin and/or metronidazole. If an oral ulcer is also present, this may or may not be related. Oral ulcers can occur with pain and antibiotics won’t have a major effect on its course of healing. Other sources of infection in the tooth itself should be explored. My best advice for you is to get a second opinion as soon as possible, which is only possible after a proper clinical and radiographic examination.
