I am a smoker and have two wobbly front teeth that need to be extracted, what options do I have?

February 14th, 2012
Q.

I was a patient under Newcastle Dental Hospital for a year before being told recently by my own dentist that I have no option but to lose my wobbling two front teeth (with others to follow within a few years) due to gum recession and bone loss. I have had periodontal disease for years even though I have good oral hygiene (I do smoke though). What options would you suggest to a patient presenting with my problem? Many thanks!

Why can’t I stop my gums from receding?

August 19th, 2011
Q.

My gums have receeded and my fang teeth (excuse the expression) both top and bottom look like chips have being taken out of them. I brush regulary and floss, although I do smoke but use a smokers tooth paste as well as a floride one but the areas around the base of the teeth where they have receeded are yellow and I can’t seem to get them any better. If I were to bleach them would this be ok? Also what is the treatment for what is happening with my teeth
