I think I’ve all but treated my gum disease but are the light patched of gum going to be problematic?

Q.
HI Ian, ,I have noticed recently that I have relly light patches above my teeth in my gums. it looks like the gum is really stretched over the tooths rooth sort of thing? my gums have receded a little bit I think as the little triangle bits either side of my front right incisor have gone. this is the only place they have done so and I think I may have halted any further progress with excellent oral hygiene including a check up and hygienist clean at the dentist since I noticed. I feel like I’ve done ll I can in the mean time but could the lighter patches of gum be problematic? thanks for your time Dr it is appreciated.

If you have had proper treatment and your oral hygiene is good then you have done all the right hints and if your dentist is happy that your gum health is stabilised then I am also happy. The colour you descried sounds like your gum may be thinner in these areas and as such it is really important that you keep these areas inflammation free. I would discuss this with your dentist next time you are in who will be able to advise better having actually seen what you are describing.
