I keep getting ulcers in my mouth, what is causing them and what medication should i take?

Q.
Hello, I was wondering if you could maybe advice me on what medication to get with my problem. I have recently been getting a lot of ulcers on my gums and tongue. It’s really sore and they don’t seem to be healing very quickly, new ones keep popping up regularly. I have just started a new job which involves night shifts so my sleep pattern has altered, could this be the cause or is it a bigger problem? Thanks Ian!

There are lots of reasons why people get ulcers including stress, illness, poor diet, trauma and many more. There are also different types of ulcers.

It may be related to your new job and you being a little run down but it is always worth discussing this with your Dentist or Doctor. A blood test would rule out things like Iron or B12 deficiencies and you could modify your lifestyle and see if it makes a difference.

I would have someone look at the type of ulcers you are getting and they may be able to give more specific advice.
