I have a stinging pain in my gum when I drink hot/cold drinks. What is this?

Q.
Hi Doc
I’ve been having pain on my right upper and lower teeth line that has been bothering me for some time now.Whenever i drink too cold or too hot fluids i get a sharp stinging pain on the right side teeth.
What do you think could the problem be?
Could it simply be because of the plaque buildup? Who should i visit for this, is there any particular type of dental practice?
Please reply.
Thanks
very much

Hi there, as always these sites can never be a full substitute for dental examination, as such your first port of call should be your general dentist. They should be able to diagnose most problems and if they cannot they will know who to refer you to for further investigations.

There are too many things that this could be based on the limited information given and as such it is impossible to answer here.

Good luck with it all, sincerely hope all goes well.
