I have a black triangle between my front teeth, could this be the start of gum disease?

Q.
i have recently noticed in the last few weeks that i have a black triangle i think its called between my two front teeth. i do try to take care of my teeth and this black triangle at first glance looks like plaque or that i dont care for my teeth i hate the fact that its there. I started using an electric toothbursh probablty more vigorously than i should, but im not sure if this has anything to do with it, could it be the start of gum disease? What are the standard ways of this being solved yet can’t physically afford it to go further. by the way i am only 17 and so i cant really spend any money on getting this solved if possible. Many thanks for your time

The important thing based on the information you have given is that it is not allowed to get any worse. Seeing a dentist to find out why this has happened in essential. If it id due to gum disease then at your age this is very serious and would need specific treatment to resolve. There is also a chance that this is nothing to do with gum disease and may be due to your tooth shape or a number of other things. It is impossible to advise on options in this case without seeing pictures and x-rays as the options vary depending on the diagnosis.
