When is it the best time to take my daughter to the dentist?

Q.
My little girl is 4months and just started teething, Iam wondering when is it the right time to take her to the dentist for the first time? The thing is I don’t want to take her to young and make her scared of dentists but I don’t want to leave it to late and her develop gum disease and rotten teeth. Please could you help me on this tricky matter? thanks for your time

Whilst this is not really a gum disease question and there may be other forums to advise you better, I would say that you should take your baby with you to your check ups and discuss this with your dentist. It was always my preference to see children quite early, say by the age of 2-2 1/2 just to give them a ride on the chair and a sticker, you need to find a dentist who is good with children.

If you have any specific dental concerns about your child then you should have them checked sooner. It is improtant, now that your child has teeth, that you brush their teeth twice a day with the correct strength toothpaste and monitor their diet to prevent decay.

Hope this helps but I would discuss this further with your general dentist.
