Hello, I have just found out that I am pregnant. I have been told and witnessed my other pregnant friend’s teeth deterioration during their pregnancies. Two of them suffered from gum disease too. I don’t want this to happen to me, can you please suggest something that will improve and maintain my oral health during pregnancy please? Do you think I’ll have to visit my hygienist more often? My mum has gum disease, will i get it too?

Today my mum went to our dentist and she got told that she’s at the start of getting gum disease. But she doesn’t smoke and eatings plenty of fruit and vegetables and only buys sweets for me and my sister so doesn’t eat any for herself. This has made me wonder
1. Because she has gum disease will I get it? I’m not sure if this is how it works. 2. How do I prevent getting it if this is the case and I am likely to get it?
3. How do you cure it because Idon#t want it!?
