I’m 26 and my gums have started to recede and bleed, i have the early signs of gum disease, should i consider BOST?

Hi, Please can you help me. I am only 26 years old and I believe I have gum disease. I have always brushed my teeth twice a day and went to the dentist every 6 months up until the age of 18. 6 months ago my gum became painful, swollen and then receded a great deal. It was one tooth and is the front bottom one in the middle. As I was working away in Japan for 6 months I could not visit my dentist. I went to my dentist last week. She said I had the early stages of gum disease and cleaned my teeth. Since then I have also switched to using an electric tooth brush and use corsodly mouth wash. Now over the last 3 days several of my other teeth on the front have become painful and bleed. I’m really upset about it and want to know what your advice would be. I will call my dentist and go again. I’m sure the new problem gum area will get better but I am worried about the first tooth where the gum has receded. Would you recommend that I ask my dentist about BOST? Where abouts in the country can I get this treatment, how do I go about getting it and how much would it cost?
Thank you so much for your time and help!

Hello.
It looks like my gums are starting to recede. I visit the dentist regularly and would thought my dentist might have noticed this and said something.
How can I go about stopping this problem and restore healthy gums.
I brush twice a day and also use mouth wash and occasionally floss.
Thanks for your time.
Do you recommend using a electric toothbrush or just a standard one?
I also grind my teeth in my sleep. Any tips on how to stop this?

Could aggressive manual brushing make my gums recede?

July 20th, 2011
Q.

I am 27 and I have recently been to the dentist for the first time in a few years. I had not really noticed but on closer inspection it appears my gums have started to recede. One of my lower teeth it is quite extreme and I can see quite a lot of the base of my tooth. The dentist said he thinks it could be because I have been using a manual toothbrush too aggressively. He seemed in a bit of a rush and aside from recommending an electric toothbrush and seeing a hygienist he didn’t go in to much more detail but did say I was young to have so much recession! I am really worried now that my teeth will fall out before I am 30! I am really healthy otherwise, I don’t smoke etc. I have an appointment with a hygienist and have changed to an electric toothbrush but I am wondering what I can expect long term?
