My gums have deteriorated rapidly in only 4 months, what should I do?

Q.
My gums actually feel like there dying there all bleeding most of the time and i’ve used corsadol i think thats how its spelt for like 6 mounths it hasnt got better. I hear that once your gums are so bad they cant go back does that mean theres nothing that can save my teeth. and will i lose them most likely im only 20 i dont understand. I understand i should go to a dentist but i was there like 4 months ago and nothing was said about my gums, How do you sugest they would have got this bad. its like when i suck in i feel hollow bits in my mouth like theres space under the teeth.

Hi ,

If you are not happy with the advice you are getting from your dentist, I suggest that you seek a second opinion from another dentist. If there are gum problems in someone as young as you (20 years old) it is crucial that it is picked up and treated appropriately to avoid tooth loss.

It is possible that you fall in to the category of Aggressive Periodontitis, it is not that common but it is treatable. It would not be unreasonable to be referred to a specialist if you have this condition.

Hope it all goes well.
