I have a hole on my lower gum, my dentist just said to use corsdyl, the problems still there after 6 months, what should i do?

Q.
Hi, I have on several occasions visited my dentist about a hole before my front bottom teeth. His advise was to use corsdyl mouth wash as well as corsdyl brushes for between my teeth.

After 6 month this problem is still there and my gums are bleeding more as im only 30 I am starting to panic that I may lose my teeth.

Please could you advise me on where to go now as I feel my dentist is not taking me serious.

thanks!

A.
Your gums should not bleed so probably there is still plaque that needs to be removed. The mouth wash can be helpful to prevent plaque formation not to eliminate existing plaque particularly when it is hard and/or it is under the gum. You may need a thorough professional cleaning and use effective interdental brushing. If the space is big it should be easy to use interdental brushes. The cause of the gap should be also assessed, it may be the normal anatomy of the area because of the position of your teeth or it could be associated to gum recession which may or may not continue depending on the state of your gums (healthy or not) and the quality of the tissues (thin or thick). You should discuss your concerns with your dentist openly and if you are not satisfied seek a second opinion from other dentist.
