I am starting to get gum disease. How can I stop it?

Q.
Iav just been told of my dentist that iam starting with gum disease and iam really worried about not getting it sorted and loosing all of my teeth. Iav started to floss my teeth on a regular basis but Iam unsure about what mouthwash to use or is salt water better? please could you advice me as i really dont wanna loose any of my teeth
A.
The most important aspect of home care is the mechanical removal of the buildup on your teeth ie your toothbrushing, flossing and cleaning between the teeth with brushes like Tepe brushes.

For established conditions like Periodontal Disease (gum disease) there is little evidence to support their use in the treatment of the disease. Many products make impressive claims but I can assure you that if your mechanical cleaning is good, the added benefits of the chemical agents will be tiny.

Make sure that you see a dentist or hygienist so that they can show you exactly what you need to be doing on a daily basis to keep things as clean as they need to be.

Good luck with it!
