Are My Headaches Being Caused By My Periodontal Disease?

Q.
Hi. Is it possible to suffer from headaches due to having periodontal gum disease? I have recently been diagnosed with this condition and having read a bit more about it would like to ask what would be the best way to prevent further damage to gums and bone to prevent tooth loss? My dentist has suggested using various mouthwash and brushing more often but my condition is quite severe and I would like to know if the BOST treatment would be the best option or the regular treatment. According to my dentist and having seen recent X-rays the bone has significantly receded by around 6mm which suggest a very serious problem could you please be able to give me more advice and an opinion on how you would seem the best treatment to suit my condition? Thank you!!

Hello and thank you for getting in touch. Headaches can be caused by a variety of reasons, one of them could be malocclusion. The best thing to do would be to see a specialist periodontist for regular meeting and see what they can do for you. I hope this helps. Dr Dimitrios Mitsas.
